Before you start
Use a supported desktop browser and review the store’s compatibility information. You do not need to download a ZIP file or enable developer mode for a normal store installation. On a work or school device, your organization may restrict extension installation.
Chrome and Edge store releases may arrive at different times. The screens and feature names in your installed version can differ from a website preview.
Install in Google Chrome
- Open the official uPet Chrome Web Store listing using the Add to Chrome button on this page.
- Select Add to Chrome in the store. Review the requested permissions, then confirm Add extension if you want to proceed.
- Open the browser’s Extensions menu and find uPet. Pin its icon if you want a convenient toolbar shortcut.
- Click the uPet icon to open the sidebar. Follow the setup prompts to choose a pet and give it a name.
Install in Microsoft Edge
- Open the official uPet Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing using the Add to Edge button.
- Select Get. Read the permissions prompt and confirm Add extension if you want to proceed.
- Find uPet in the Extensions menu beside the address bar and open it.
- Follow the pet setup prompts. Sign in when you want to use cloud AI replies and credits.
Why does a browser pet request webpage permissions?
uPet includes a webpage pet and reading assistance. Site access lets the extension display its pet and selection tools on supported pages. Tabs and scripting support finding the page you are working with and running webpage-reading functionality.
Storage saves local settings and data; side-panel access opens the companion interface. Other permissions support features such as reminders, sign-in and new-tab shortcuts. Check the actual permission prompt and privacy policy before installing, and use your browser’s extension settings to manage site access.
If the pet or sidebar is missing
Refresh an existing tab
After installation, refresh the webpage where you want the pet to appear. Already-open tabs may not have loaded the extension’s content scripts.
Try a regular webpage
Browser settings, extension stores and some document viewers restrict extension scripts. Test on a normal webpage and open the sidebar from the toolbar.
Check access and settings
Confirm that uPet is enabled, allowed on the current site and configured to show the webpage pet. Managed browser policies may limit access.
If AI replies do not start
Check that you are signed in, connected to the internet and have enough credits for the selected model. Installing the extension alone does not make cloud AI replies available offline.
For an interrupted reply or service error, retry after checking the connection. If the problem continues, contact support@upet.cc with your browser version and the error message; do not include passwords or access tokens.
Remove or disable uPet
Open your browser’s Extensions management page. Turn off uPet to disable it, or select Remove to uninstall it. Back up any local content you need before removing the extension, because uninstalling can remove its locally stored data.
Common questions
Should I install chrome.zip or edge.zip?
Not for a normal store installation. Use the official store buttons. ZIP packages are intended for store submission or manual development testing.
Why is the install button unavailable?
Check that you are using the appropriate desktop browser. Your organization’s policies or browser compatibility may prevent installation.
