Privacy Policy

uPet ("we", "us", or "our") operates the uPet browser extension and related services at upet.cc. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Local Data (stored in your browser)

Pet settings, mood entries, check-ins and other local activity data are stored in your browser. Practical Assistant history stores up to 30 recent results per account in this browser, including instructions, replies and source references. Signing in can enable server storage of pet data and pet conversations. Local history storage does not mean AI requests stay on your device.

1.2 Account Data (optional)

If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile information (name, email, profile picture) and store it on our server to provide cross-device sync and subscription management.

1.3 Payment Data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers. We receive your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your plan. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment transactions: stripe.com/privacy.

1.4 Email Notifications

When you complete a subscription, we send an internal notification email to our team (not to third parties) containing your account email and plan information. This is solely for order monitoring purposes.

1.5 AI Conversations and Practical Assistant

When you request an AI reply, your prompt and relevant conversation context are sent through our servers to our AI API provider. Assistant requests may also include attached page excerpts, selected text, page titles, source URLs, email excerpts and draft text. These are used to generate your requested answer, translation or draft. Provider credentials are kept on the server. Reading a page into the assistant prepares local context; generating a reply sends that context for AI processing.

1.6 Pet Memory and Companion Check-ins

For signed-in users, chat messages are stored on our server to provide conversation history and, when enabled, a concise pet-specific memory. Memory is generated from chat messages and can be disabled or cleared in Settings. Optional companion check-ins are generated locally, respect quiet hours and a cooldown, and do not send page content or use chat credits.

1.7 Browsing and Page Content

The page companion uses page titles and URLs locally for pet reactions and a local travel log. Separately, Practical Assistant reads page content or selected text when you use its page and selection tools. Attached content and source information are transmitted when you generate an AI reply. User-requested text replacement or Gmail draft insertion changes the page locally; uPet does not send emails for you. Project and page-tracking features are previews and are not exposed in the current extension UI.

Other local data remains until cleared or the extension is uninstalled. Account data is retained while your account is active; contact us to request deletion. Data sent for AI processing is handled by our infrastructure and AI providers under their applicable retention practices.
