What makes a pet conversation different?
Pet chat adds a companion’s personality to the conversation. You can choose your pet and its name, then talk to it in the sidebar. Replies are generated by AI, so they can vary and may be inaccurate.
A conversation can start simply: tell your pet that you finished a task, describe something interesting you read, or ask for a playful idea for a short break. These are suggested prompts, not promises about a particular reply.

Memory you can review
With pet memory enabled, your companion can remember interests and preferences from your conversations. You can review or clear its memories and manage the memory setting.
Pet memory is separate from Practical Assistant conversation history, which is saved locally in your browser. Do not assume every kind of history has the same storage or synchronization behavior.
What you need for AI chat
Install uPet, open the sidebar and sign in to generate AI replies. Cloud chat needs an internet connection and available credits. Select a model from those available to your account; credit costs can differ between models.
Local pet interactions are separate from cloud generation. If an AI service is unavailable, feeding or visiting your local pet does not mean a new cloud reply will be available. See the pricing section for current plans rather than assuming unlimited chat.
Know what is shared
When you request an AI response, your message and relevant conversation context are processed by our servers and AI providers. Signed-in pet conversations and pet data can be stored on our servers. Attached webpage content is also sent when used in a generation request.
Avoid sending passwords or sensitive information. Read the privacy policy for the data categories and controls. uPet is a virtual companion for casual interaction, not a real animal or a professional advice service.

Switch to Practical Assistant to ask about webpage content, explain selected text, translate, polish writing or prepare a draft. It is designed for task-focused replies, while pet chat keeps the companion experience.
The assistant prepares content for you to review. An email draft is not automatically sent on your behalf.

Do I need to pay before adopting a pet?
You can start with local pet activities without a paid subscription. Cloud AI generation requires sign-in and available credits; consult current pricing for allowances.
Can I use AI pet chat offline?
No. New AI replies need a connection to the cloud service. Local pet activities are distinct from AI generation.
Is all conversation history only on my device?
No. Practical Assistant history is local, but signed-in pet conversations and pet data can be stored on our servers.
